The Annual NOLA East Festival is an opportunity to share fun, entertainment, good food, dancing, and various activities with the community in Joe W. Brown Park.

The Krewe of Nefertiti has paraded for 6 years. Their vibrant display of costumes and favors are enjoyed by many spectators from all over the city.

The Audubon Louisiana Nature Center on Lake Forest Blvd. has a Planetarium and Interpretive Center offering educational programs on nature, wildlife, and movies about the solar system. Several walking trails offer more explorations and sightings for snakes, alligators, insects, birds, and more. The nature center has been in the New Orleans East community for almost 50 years!

“Love the Boot”-Art and Culture on Lake Forest Blvd. was an event that supported a statewide initiative started by Louisiana’s Lt. Governor, Billy Nungesser, to support cleanup efforts. Many organizations including New Orleans East Matters and the Lake Forest Cultural District participated.
